What Are You Offering?

Colony offers many different business insurance policies. For the Affiliate program, the policies that will Qualify are General Liability, also referred to as 'commercial general liability' (CGL), Professional Liability (PL), and Errors & Omission (E&O), Business Equipment Protection and Business Owners Policy (BOP).

Commercial General Liability (CGL)

Protects a business against the risk of accidents like bodily injury and property damage that happen to a third party. CGL is the most essential insurance for a business. If they don't have it and something happens while they’re on the job, one big claim could cost enough to put a business out of work. With general liability insurance, a business has the protection they need to stay focused on building their business.

Professional Liability (PL)

Simply put, professional liability insurance covers mistakes in a companies work. It’s also called errors & omissions (E&O) insurance or professional indemnity insurance, but it all refers to the same thing (you know how insurance goes).

Accidents happen, but some mistakes—the kind that result in financial loss for customers—can lead to claims of negligence, legal defense fees, and court dates. All of those things get in the way of success building a business, so for claims involving third parties other than physical damage, a business needs professional liability insurance.

Business Equipment Protection

Business Equipment Protection is insurance for equipment a business owner owns and uses for work.

From a chainsaw to a curling iron, if they use it on the job, there’s a chance that it could get damaged. And while general liability insurance protects damage to your clients’ property, Business Equipment Protection is coverage for a business owners stuff.

In the insurance world, this kind of policy is technically called “Inland Marine insurance” (you know insurance: always keep things interesting).

Business Owners Policies (BOP)

A Business Owners Policy is a policy designed for small business owners that own or rent a building. A BOP has General Liability Coverage, Building Coverage, Business Personal Property coverage and Business Interruption Coverage all wrapped into one.
